Genome assembly and microbial metagenomes reveal insights into Bathymodiolus septemdierum, suggesting ecological interactions.
<ns3:p>We present a genome assembly from a specimen of <ns3:italic>Bathymodiolus septemdierum</ns3:italic> (Seven Luminaries Vent Mussel; Mollusca; Bivalvia; Mytilida; Mytilidae). The genome sequence has a total length of 1,428.15 megabases. Most of the assembly (99.29%) is scaffolded into 15 chromosomal pseudomolecules. The mitochondrial genome has also been assembled and is 17.11 kilobases in length. Three bacterial genomes were also assembled from the metagenome of <ns3:italic>B. septemdierum</ns3:italic>, these were two <ns3:italic>Candidatus</ns3:italic> Thiodubiliella endoseptemdiera genomes and a Chlamydiales bacterium BSEPT1. Gene annotation of this assembly on Ensembl identified 27,427 protein-coding genes.</ns3:p>
