Survey highlights how age and gender influence perception of SMP effectiveness, suggesting pathways for increased social acceptance.
First, 83.5% of all respondents were aware of SMP, and 72.6% perceived it as effective in concealing hair loss. Second, overall perceptions of SMP were generally positive; however, some respondents pointed out negative aspects such as color spreading, unnatural design, and hygiene issues. Third, perception of SMP had a significant impact on the decision to undergo the procedure, and notably, “perceived necessity” was found to play a mediating role in this process. This study suggests that providing accurate information and promoting positive perceptions of SMP can contribute to greater social acceptance and popularization of the procedure. The findings may serve as foundational data for future policy development and awareness improvement efforts.
