Proposes algorithms to minimize interference and meet individual sumrate demands in D2D settings, highlighting efficiency and performance.
In‐band mode of device‐to‐device (D2D) communication reuses radio resource blocks (RBs) of the underlying cellular network to uplift spectral utilization. However, sharing the radio spectrum with the secondary users (D2D) might adversely affect the primary users (cellular) by causing undesired interference. Thus, the goal is to balance the trade‐off between sumrate escalation and interference reduction. This study addresses the issue of minimizing interference while maintaining an individual minimum sumrate requirement and considers one‐to‐many and many‐to‐many sharing modes to account for scenarios where more than one cellular user equipment (UE) may be required to meet the individual sumrate requirement of a D2D pair. To tackle this problem, this paper proposes a solution for the one‐to‐many approach based on the Hungarian algorithm and the many‐to‐many approach based on the Kuhn–Munkres algorithm with a backtracking process (KMB). Additionally, an approximation algorithm is designed to calculate D2D pair demand and cellular UE capacity and has been integrated with the proposed solution to comply with individual target sumrate demands in both of the addressed sharing modes. The proposed RA algorithms surpass the performance of cutting‐edge techniques in overall system interference while providing reasonable and competitive total system sumrate. Overall, the research contributes to the development of efficient RA algorithms for D2D communication underlay in‐band mode, which is an important area of study for academia, standardization bodies, and industry.
