The article considers the features of the placement of trading facilities and the organization of traveling trade, shows its significance for sparsely populated rural settlements. It is relevant to use the historical experience of organizing traveling trade in the northern regions and in cooperative trade. Actual and regulatory availability of trade enterprises in municipal districts was compared. It is proposed to organize the work of car shops to meet the needs of the population in goods with insufficient provision of retail facilities.
