Case reports detail cystic swellings in newborns, highlighting the rarity and variability of oral cysts.
Congenital oral cysts are rare and typically discovered incidentally in newborns. These cysts can vary greatly in etiology and clinical appearance, ranging from benign cysts to malignant growths in the oral cavity, and there is limited literature on such neonatal lesions. We describe two newborns who presented with oral cystic swellings shortly after birth. These swellings did not cause any discomfort or complications, so no immediate treatment was required. It is crucial to have a thorough understanding of these lesions for prompt identification and appropriate intervention.
