Analytical results highlight magneto-viscoelastic interaction in radial motion, suggesting insights into solid earth dynamics.
Analytical and numerical results are reported for magneto-viscoelastic interaction on radial motion of a conducting solid spherical body of homogeneous isotropic material. The fundamental equations of motion are derived by solving equations of viscoelasticity of Voigt's type, taking into account the effect of a magnetic field and the electromagnetic equations of Maxwell. These nonlinear equations have been solved exactly without assuming any approximation for linearization. The analysis has been successfully applied to investigate the radial motion of solid earth placed in its own magnetic field and which is initially stressed - an extremely important problem of geophysical interest.
