This study explores how produced water affects reservoir permeability and oil production, suggesting improved water injection strategies.
The compatibility of injected water and reservoir fluid is extremely important for the design of water injection development plans. This article aims to establish a model of the impact of production water reinjection on reservoir permeability through indoor experiments and numerical simulations, and explore the impact of reinjection water quality on reservoir production The impact will provide a basis for the Z oilfield water injection development plan. First, the changes in reservoir permeability under different water quality conditions were measured experimentally, and then numerical simulations were used to analyze the potential impact of produced water reinjection on reservoir production. The study combined experimental data to establish a mathematical model to characterize the relationship between water quality and permeability, and conduct sensitivity analysis. Research results show that production water reinjection has a significant impact on reservoir permeability. The permeability changes under different water quality conditions are different, which in turn affects the oil and gas production of the reservoir. Numerical simulation has verified that produced water reinjection can effectively achieve the water injection and oil displacement effect. These findings provide a scientific basis for formulating more targeted water injection development plans. This study innovatively combines experiments and numerical simulations to systematically evaluate the impact of produced water reinjection on reservoir permeability. This work has important technical significance for improving the effectiveness of oilfield water injection development and formulating standardized water quality indicators.
