Integration of Fiber Bragg Grating sensors with DTS improves system accuracy, suggesting better monitoring in specialized environments.
To improve the accuracy and reliability of existing cable temperature monitoring, this paper integrates point-type Fiber Bragg Grating (FBG) sensors with traditional Distributed Temperature Sensing (DTS). A dual-channel demodulation algorithm is implemented to achieve temperature compensation, significantly enhancing the measurement precision of the distributed optical fiber temperature measurement system. Experiments were conducted using a DTS system incorporating point-type FBG sensors. The results show that the temperature deviation at the 6 km fiber end is reduced from 11.2°C to 1.2°C, demonstrating a notable improvement in system accuracy. This method effectively compensates for temperature errors caused by differences in attenuation coefficients. The proposed system is suitable for monitoring temperature field distributions in specialized working environments such as coal mines and cable tunnels, exhibiting significant engineering application value and broad prospects for practical deployment.
