Observing another rat running the maze activates anterior cingulate cortex neurons correlated with hippocampal replay.
Reactivation of neurons in error trials is diminished, suggesting a role in decision-making during navigation.
The activities of ACC neurons predict subsequent hippocampal place cell activity during replay, influencing navigation.
Findings highlight the interaction between ACC and hippocampus in processing social learning for spatial tasks.
