Motivation: Limited coverage and low resolution limit clinical application of renal T1 mapping. Goal(s): We aimed to develop a fast and high resolution 3D T1 mapping sequence for kidney imaging. Approach: The multiple inversion-time samplings look-locker sequence (mTI-LL) was implemented, using a simplified Bloch simulation for signal fitting. This technique was tested on volunteers and compared to the conventional Modified Look‐Locker inversion recovery(2D-MOLLI). Results: Compared 2D-MOLLI, mTI-LL offers higher resolution and greater coverage within a clinically acceptable scan time. Impact: The mTI-LL technique showed great potential for clinical applications,it appropriate for 3D T1 mapping with whole-kidney coverage and high-resolution.
