Analysis of synthetic MRI and APT reveals strong capability in predicting IDH1 mutations in gliomas, indicating a novel diagnostic method.
Motivation: Mutations in the IDH1 gene are pivotal in the pathogenesis, classification, and prognostic evaluation of gliomas. Predicting these mutations using non-invasive methods is of substantial clinical importance. Goal(s): To explore the capability of synthetic MRI combined with Amide Proton Transfer (APT) in predicting the IDH1 gene status in gliomas. Approach: 51 IDH1-mutant and 34 IDH1-wildtype glioma patients were collected to compare their synthetic MRI and APT quantitative parameters, the diagnostic value of these parameters in predicting IDH1 gene status being assessed. Results: The quantitative parameters of synthetic MRI and APT are effective in predicting IDH1 mutation status.Their combined application achieves the highest predictive performance. Impact: The combination of synthetic MRI and APT provides a novel and reliable non-invasive diagnostic method for predicting IDH1 gene status, offering an valuable imaging approach for the development of personalized treatment plans and prognostic assessments in clinical practice.
