Motivation: Isotropic T2*-weighted images can be generated from three low resolution 2D EPI datasets acquired in orthogonal planes and reconstructed with a super-resolution (SR) approach. This 'NATIve' method offers a potential basis for a comprehensive imaging examination for patients who cannot lie still for long periods. Goal(s): To extend the NATIVE approach to generate multi-contrast images of the brain. Approach: 2D EPI with a range of magnetisation preparations were acquired and reconstructed using two SR algorithms. Results: T1-weighted, T2-weighted, T2*-weighted and FLAIR images of the brain were generated. Resolution was increased compared to the original method using an improved super-resolution algorithm. Impact: The inability of many patients to lie still during MRI leads to motion-corrupted images. Fast imaging with multiple contrasts could make a significant contribution to imaging patients with diseases which make it difficult to stay still, such as Parkinson's disease.
