Initial experience shows reliable image quality in non-contrast and contrast enhanced 3D MRA applications, indicating potential for clinical use.
Motivation: The advantages of image-based navigator (iNAV) 3D MRA are its free-breathing capabilities with non-rigid motion correction and predictable acquisition times, leading to reliable performance in patients. Goal(s): To demonstrate the feasibility of non-contrast and contrast enhanced image-based navigator 3D MRA on a commercial 0.55T system. Approach: T2 prepared non-contrast enhanced and slow infusion gadolinium contrast enhanced iNAV 3D MRA images were acquired in three volunteers, and ferumoxytol enhanced iNAV 3D MRA in four other volunteers. Results: Diagnostic image quality was demonstrated for all techniques, illustrating the potential for patient-specific clinical applications at 0.55T. Impact: The availability of a fixed acquisition time, non-contrast enhanced and contrast-enhanced image-based navigator (iNAV) 3D MRA applications on a commercial 0.55T system can meet patient-specific needs for thoracic aortic angiogram evaluation.
