Analysis of connectivity changes in pain-related brain regions among diabetes peripheral neuropathy patients, suggesting new insights.
Motivation: Explore the possible pain mechanism related to function in patients with diabetes peripheral neuropathy Goal(s): to explore changes in functional connectivity within key pain-related brain regions among patients with diabetic peripheral neuropathy. Approach: Time courses from 17 pain-related brain regions were extracted and analyzed for ROI-to-ROI functional connectivity. Results: Significant differences in FC were noted among the groups, particularly between the thalamus and periaqueductal gray (PAG), and the insula and medial prefrontal cortex (mPFC). Impact: Understanding the pain mechanism related to function in patients with diabetes peripheral neuropathy (DPN) is of great significance for improving the prognosis of patients.
