Motivation: Rapid imaging methods with high temporal resolution and signal-to-noise ratio are required for hyperpolarized 13C-MRSI experiments. Goal(s): Possible application of IDEAL-reconstructed Seiffert Spirals in a preclinical setting with respect to the requirements of hyperpolarization. Approach: Acquisition of echo-images and IDEAL-implementation for Seiffert Spirals used for reconstruction of metabolite images using a phantom containing 13C-labeled reference solutions. Results: Successful separation of phantom metabolites indicates possible application of Seiffert Spirals within preclinical 13C-MRSI. Impact: The reconstructed metabolite images using Seiffert Spirals showed potential for rapid imaging with a lower number of readouts compared to other acquisition techniques in combination with IDEAL, possibly enabling single-shot trajectories to be combined with hyperpolarized probes.
