Pilot testing of a digital escape room improved conceptual understanding and motivation in students, suggesting effective integration of digital tools.
This article presents the development and pilot testing of the digital educational escape game The Secret of Master Cuprum, focused on teaching the chemical transformations of copper and related redox processes. The game incorporates elements of problem-based learning, engaging pupils in both practical and theoretical tasks while integrating digital tools such as ChatGPT, Google Slides, LearningApps, and draw.io. The findings demonstrate that this structured educational activity enhances conceptual understanding, fosters active participation, and increases student motivation, while also revealing areas that require targeted instructional support.
