Analysis reveals laser hardening improves hardness and wear resistance in grey cast iron components, suggesting effective treatment options.
The article is devoted to the study of the possibility of increasing the hardness and wear resistance of parts made of gray cast iron SH-20, in particular, shot blasting blades. The results of measuring microhardness and determining the wear resistance of surface layers treated with continuous radiation are presented. It is shown that laser hardening of parts made of grey cast iron is an effective means of increasing their hardness and wear resistance.
