This application improves astronomy understanding in learners, suggesting augmented reality can enhance space education.
Education has undergone significant transformation in the digital age, leveraging innovative technologies and online platforms to enhance engagement and accessibility. However, learners still face several challenges in understanding space exploration and astronomy, such as the inability to grasp the vastness of the universe, difficulty in obtaining reliable and organized information, and the complexity of astronomical concepts. According to NASA, in the 96 percent of the universe that is undiscovered, many popular didactic tasks cannot fill the gap between popular interest and expert level understanding as digital teaching tools proliferate. This article presents “Stellar Scape,” a cross platform augmented reality (AR) education app using Flutter to handle the above difficulties. Stellar Scape was founded with the goal of making space more interesting and more inclusive for a broader audience. Excellent celestial imagery, up to date astronomy news, and exact space related data in a gorgeous, space themed interface that is a breeze to use on both the iOS and Android smartphone. Augmented reality and cutting-edge mobile technology provide a new way to redefine space education with Stellar Scape. This study explores the app’s conceptual grounding, the problematic development process, and the capacity of the app to introduce the universe in a dynamic and user-friendly way into the realm of how astronomy might be taught.
