Guillaume Thibault discusses cellular stress and lipid homeostasis, highlighting their roles in disease pathology.
Guillaume Thibault is an Associate Professor at Nanyang Technological University (NTU) in Singapore. He obtained his PhD from the University of Toronto, Canada, and completed postdoctoral research at Temasek Life Sciences Laboratory, Singapore, before deciding to stay on in Singapore to establish his own lab. His research focuses on cellular stress and lipid homeostasis, examining how endoplasmic reticulum stress and the unfolded protein response contribute to cellular function and disease pathology. In addition to running his group, Guillaume is Assistant Dean of International Engagement at the College of Science at NTU, and the founding and serving President of the Society for Cell Biology Singapore (SCBS). We chatted with Guillaume to find out more about his route into academia, his research and his advice for junior scientists.
