This research analyzes spatial forms of taihu lake stone in traditional gardens, suggesting unique topological characteristics across regions.
Abstract The Taihu Lake Lake stone is an important element in Chinese classical gardens. It has become a benchmark of traditional aesthetics with its characteristics of "thin, wrinkled, leaky and transparent". The Taihu Lake Stone combines the beauty of nature with the ingenuity of man by skillfully using the shape, line, color and other characteristics of the Taihu Lake Stone. At the same time, the spatial form of the landscape the Taihu Lake Lake stone plays an important role in the traditional garden design in the south of the Yangtze River. They are not only objects of appreciation, but also through the combination with water, plants and other landscape elements, shaping the spatial level and visual effect of the garden. Therefore, the spatial form of the landscape the Taihu Lake Lake stone has important research value. This study attempts to use typology and topology theory to analyze the spatial topological relationship of different types of landscape the Taihu Lake Stone in traditional gardens, and clarify how the the Taihu Lake Stone landscape in different regions has different spatial topological characteristics. At the same time, it analyzes how the the Taihu Lake Lake stones with different topological structures in the garden match with the surrounding plant water system to form a new spatial topological relationship so as to form a beautiful frame landscape, providing a new research perspective and data support for the construction of traditional garden landscape in the south of the Yangtze River.
