The MVPC-KCWPAV catalyst improves methacrylic acid selectivity and isobutylene conversion, suggesting a new approach for green processes.
The production of methacrylic acid from isobutylene has significant economic benefits, but the MAA selectivity of existing catalysts is low. Therefore, the MVPC-KCWPAV catalyst with excellent performance was designed and prepared successfully. The catalyst is composed of MVPC with high adsorption and activation properties and KCWPAV with excellent MAA selectivity. The one-step oxidation of isobutylene showed that the MVPC-KCWPAV catalyst had significantly improved MAA selectivity, MAA selectivity could reach 70% and isobutylene conversion could reach 93%. XRD, FTIR and O 2 -TPD characterization tests showed that the reason for the improvement of MVPC-KCWPAV catalyst was the existence of relay synergy between the MVO active site and Keggin acid active site. This provides an experimental basis for the isobutene one-step synthesis of MAA, and also provides a new theoretical basis for the isobutene green process.
