This analysis reveals how silicon carbide influences thermal conductivity and porosity in aluminum composites.
The study results of the effect of a matrix alloy on the thermal-physical properties of metal composite material (MCM) based on aluminum casting alloys of grades AK5, AK12 of the Al-Si system reinforced with silicon carbide particles with volume content of reinforcing particles (69±1) % (vol.) are presented. MCM was made by vacuum-compression impregnation. The thermal-physical characteristics of the material: thermal conductivity and temperature coefficient of linear expansion (TCLR), density, porosity, specific surface area are given. The conclusions are made and it is shown that characteristics depend on structural features and methods of composite material production.
