Analysis reveals the relationship between hydrogen levels and brittleness in titanium alloys, highlighting improvements in vacuum annealing.
It is shown that on the basis of the theories of the chain branched reaction of combustion-oxidation of hydrogen and the reaction of reduction of titanium dioxide to sequioxide by hydrogen, it is possible to determine the propensity of titanium alloys to hydrogen brittleness, and to increase the efficiency of the vacuum annealing of forgings-parts from titanium alloys.
