This article examines industrial development in the Tatar Autonomous Soviet Socialistic Republic, highlighting trends in management systems and modernization leaps.
This article examines the history of industrial development in the TASSR from 1920 to 1980. The advantage of this article is a comprehensive, objective, systematic consideration of the phenomenon of Tatar industry from its beginning in the early 20th century to its crisis related to a decrease in the efficiency of the commandadministrative economy. The authors managed to take a closer look at six time stages of the development of the Tatar industry. General scientific methods were used as research method which related to the identification of hidden causes and driving forces of the historical process and determining its relationship with the logic of the development of events. The leading role of the ideological foundation of the development of Tatar industry, related to the management and expanded reproduction of socialist property, is determined. The driving forces of modernization leaps are identified, related to the need to catch up with capitalist countries, prepare the country for war, restore the national economy after war and assure its development in the industrial era. The trends of centralization (decentralization) in the industrial management system of the Tatar ASSR, realized in order to improve its socio-economic indicators, are also considered.
