Genome assembly reveals haplotypes and chromosomal pseudomolecules in Buteo buteo, suggesting insights into avian genetics.
<ns3:p>We present a genome assembly from a male specimen of <ns3:italic>Buteo buteo</ns3:italic> (Common Buzzard; Chordata; Aves; Accipitriformes; Accipitridae). The assembly contains two haplotypes with total lengths of 1,303.68 megabases and 1,330.55 megabases. Most of haplotype 1 (94.6%) is scaffolded into 34 chromosomal pseudomolecules, including the Z sex chromosome. Haplotype 2 is a scaffold-level assembly. The mitochondrial genome has also been assembled, with a length of 18.36 kilobases.</ns3:p>
