This review explores epoxy coatings' innovations against corrosion and biofouling in marine infrastructure, suggesting effective strategies.
Seawater conditions are excessively taxing on steel infrastructure by means of corrosion and biofouling, causing widespread economic losses. This review considers advances in epoxy coatings designed to enhance the durability of marine infrastructure. This paper explores how emerging technologies like nanomaterials, self-healability, and green compositions improve resistance to corrosion, mechanical performance, and green sustainability. Using the review of recent literature, the paper finds effective strategies to enhance coating lifespan and offers guidance for future efforts toward durable, sustainable marine coatings.
