The article explores pedagogical conditions that contribute to the effective organization of project and research activities in general education institutions. It analyzes psychological-pedagogical, didactic, organizational, and technological aspects that influence the quality of project implementation in the school environment. Special attention is given to the role of the teacher as a mentor and coordinator of project work, as well as to the conditions necessary for fostering student motivation. Theoretical and methodological foundations are presented, supported by practical examples and classifications. To test the hypothesis regarding the impact of pedagogical conditions on the success of project activities, an experiment was conducted involving 136 eighth-grade students. At the initial stage of the study, indicators such as motivation level, team cohesion, and students’ baseline knowledge of project work were assessed. Following this, students were asked to independently carry out academic projects over the course of two weeks without specially organized pedagogical support. The results showed that under these conditions, students encountered a number of difficulties: poor team collaboration, challenges with technical implementation, misalignment of project content with current requirements, and frequent delays in meeting deadlines. The findings confirmed that without targeted pedagogical support and a stable motivational environment, most students are unable to successfully complete project tasks. This highlights the need for a comprehensive approach to organizing the educational process–one that includes the creation of conditions for student engagement, development of research skills, and the fostering of intrinsic motivation and independence. The results of the experiment can be used to improve the quality of project and research activities in schools.
