Excavation uncovered a significant coin hoard in Abu Ghosh, indicating historical activity along Highway 1.
In March–May 2014, an excavation was conducted on Ha-Arazim Street in Abu Ghosh (Permit No. A-7051; map ref. 210167/634348; Fig. 1), after the discovery of a coin hoard during antiquities inspection of work on the expansion of Highway 1. The excavation, undertaken on behalf of the Israel Antiquities Authority and funded by Netivei Israel National Transport Infrastructure Company, was directed by E. Marco and P.
