Joint French-Israeli excavation revealed insights into ancient life, highlighting roles of field photography and physical anthropology.
In July–August 2018 and July 2019, two seasons of excavation were carried out at the site of Na h al Z ippori 3 East in Lower Galilee (License Nos. G-66/2018, G-72/2019; map ref. 219911/739344). The excavation, a joint French-Israeli project on behalf of the National Center for Scientific Research (France), the Israel Antiquities Authority, the Curtiss and Brennan Foundation (USA), the French Research Center in Jerusalem and the Prehistory & Technology Laboratory (France), was directed by J. Vieugue and A. Eirikh-Rose, with the assistance of A. Wiegmann, Y. Shmidov and E. Marko (field photography and photogrammetry), B. Whitford (plans), C. Billari, S. Caillet, O. Chapuis, M. Clero, L.
