Abstract

In March 2016–August 2017, two excavation seasons took place in the Jerusalem Archaeological Park in the Old City of Jerusalem (Permit Nos. A-7630, A-7899; map ref. 222317/631361), prior to the expansion of the Davidson Center. The excavation, undertaken on behalf of the Israel Antiquities Authority and funded by the El‘ad Foundation and the Society for the Development of the Jewish Quarter, was managed by M. Hagbi and J. Uziel, with the assistance of N. Nehama (administration), K. Arbiv, I. Zilberbod, S. Cohen, S. Hirschberg (area supervision), D. Tanami (area supervision and metal detection), V. Essman, D. Porotsky and Y. Shmidov (surveying and drafting), A. Wiegmann and O. Rose (photogrammetry), A. Peretz (field photography), Y. Rapuano and I. Taxel (pottery), T. Winter (glass), D.T. Ariel (numismatics), D. Langgut and H. Roth (archaeobotany), E. Boaretto and Y. Regev (microarchaeology), Z. Friedman (graffito), Y. Vaknin, H. Shhadah and Y. Tirosh (conservation), A. Hillman (conservation consultation), O. Cohen, A. Cohen, I. Rosental and Y. Sheffer (engineering support), G. Berkowitz and M. Laor (logistical support), and volunteers, students from the Aderet, Paran and Beit Yisrael pre-military programs, and laborers.
