Analysis identifies risk factors associated with hypertension in Indian adults, suggesting public health interventions.
This article briefly overviews the important characteristics linked with hypertension in Indian adults. It emphasizes the need for targeted treatments to reduce the prevalence of hypertension in India. In this study, we have included twelve socio-demographic, environmental, and clinical variables as probable risk factors for the occurrence of hypertension. This study applies the logistic regression model to predict the influence of various risk factors on the occurrence of hypertension. Non-parametric tests like the chi-square test and Mann-Whitney’s U test were used to identify the risk factors. The factors identified in this study highlight the need for public health interventions focusing on lifestyle modifications, such as promoting physical activity, healthy dietary patterns, and tobacco and alcohol cessation programs.
