Does CMR feature-tracking derived GLS provide prognostic value in patients with primary mitral regurgitation?
Chronic primary mitral regurgitation (MR) results in progressive left ventricular (LV) remodeling. Abnormal myocardial deformation (strain) can be present despite preserved ejection fraction. Cardiovascular magnetic resonance (CMR) feature-tracking techniques allow assessment of global longitudinal strain (GLS) from routine cine-images. The aim of this study was to evaluate the prognostic value of CMR feature-tracking derived GLS in patients with primary MR.

Romano et al. (2024) conducted an observational in Primary mitral regurgitation. CMR feature-tracking derived global longitudinal strain (GLS) was evaluated. The prognostic value of CMR feature-tracking derived global longitudinal strain in patients with primary mitral regurgitation was evaluated, but no results were reported in the abstract.
