This study aims to understand the mechanism of Self-Service Technology(SST) adoption in senior diners. This study was based on Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) and Senior Technology Exploration, Learning, and Acceptance (STELA) model. This study obtained data from 236 senior diners who have prior experience in using SST in the restaurant context for the analysis. Technostress significantly affected perceived usefulness of senior diners while social influence did not have such an effect. The perceived usefulness exhibited a positive attitude toward the use of SST, thereby leading to greater exploration and higher acceptance intentions. Additionally, exploration of senior diners improved the perceived ease, which in turn increased their acceptance intention. The findings can be utilized for future relevant research and development of effective strategies for restaurant businesses.
