In the last decade, Green Infrastructure (GI) has emerged as a key element in driving sustainable urban projects, standing out for its interdisciplinary approach that integrates areas such as architecture, urban planning, civil engineering, ecology, economics, and social sciences. The central purpose of GI is to create resilient and sustainable cities, encompassing the promotion of biodiversity, improvement of environmental quality, and contribution to mitigating climate change. GI incorporates concepts such as green connectivity, reflecting its long-term commitment and interaction with various stakeholders, including landowners. This study aimed to understand trends and relevant topics regarding GI and demonstrate that GI is not exclusively limited to water-related issues, as often assumed. The research was conducted in two phases. In the first stage, a comprehensive survey was carried out using the keyword "green infrastructure." In the second stage, the approach focused on conducting two sets of research. The first group targeted terms associated with water-related issues, while the second focused on multifunctional green networks. Both phases of the research underwent evaluation based on the number of publications identified in each country. The identification of 4,395 articles revealed the diversity of definitions and applications of GI, varying according to the publication year.
