Implementation of the Token Economy Method in Improving the Discipline of 5-6 Year Old Children at ABA Gondanglegi Sutojayan Kindergarten

Early childhood education is an effort to provide a place for children from birth to six years, through developmental stimulation so that it is balanced between body and mind. Discipline is an attitude or behavior that is embedded in a person's personality in obeying applicable regulations by paying attention to norms, which can be concluded to behave in accordance with existing rules. Token economy is one of the techniques of behavior modification, designed to increase preferred behavior or reduce disliked behavior by using tokens in the form of coins or other forms of tokens. This study used classroom action research. Each cycle has increased starting from pre-cycle 32%, cycle I 57% and cycle II 80%. Based on the average value obtained, it can be concluded that the economic token method can increase the discipline of children aged 5-6 years.
