Abstract

The role of the madrasah head does not only lie in administrative functions, but also in shaping the vision, mission and culture of the organization. Character education in madrasas has a very important role in shaping students into individuals with integrity, ethics and responsibility. This research was carried out at MTs Tarbiyatus Shibyan Guyangan Krucil Probolinggo and its main focus was on the role of the madrasa head in developing student character. The research aims to explore the phenomena experienced by research subjects, such as behavior, perception, motivation, actions and other factors. This research data was collected from various methods, including observation, interviews and documentation studies. Research data analysis refers to data reduction, data presentation and conclusions. The main role of the madrasa head is to design and implement a holistic character education program. The characters instilled in students at MTs Tarbiyatus Shibyan are: 1. Religious 2. Disciplined 3. Responsible.
