The article considers the smooth start of a DC motor as an effective way to reduce the value of starting currents in conditions of constant load on the motor. The effect of engine acceleration on the magnitude of starting currents is demonstrated. The article also demonstrates the effect of negative feedback on the speed of the engine on the appearance of the transition curve of the engine. It is concluded that an increase in engine acceleration leads to an increase in the inrush current. And also that the use of negative feedback in terms of speed can significantly reduce the amount of inrush current. It is proved that the control system described in the article qualitatively copes with the requirements of bringing the engine to the rated operating mode and ensuring the permissible value of the inrush current overload.
