Computer networking is a complex and abstract discipline and requires hands-on practice for students. Hybrid virtual-real network emulation platforms can help students improve their ability to handle networks with diverse devices. However, existing platforms are inadequate in high-fidelity, location-independent isolation and scalability to integrate real network hardware. This paper introduces a hybrid virtual-real educational platform built upon Klonet, an emerging virtual emulation platform designed for educational purposes. We integrate hardware and enhance Klonet with VM support, increasing the adaptability to diverse networks and overcoming the limitations of existing platforms.
