This scientific article is devoted to the ways of using mathematics in teaching and researching the subjects of physics and astronomy. Newton's first polynomial was used in mathematical modeling of the emission of electron and hole color centers in solid state physics. Shannon's formula was used to determine information entropy, and the logarithmic function of Boltzmann's formula was used to determine statistical entropy. In astronomy, trigonometric functions and stereographic transformations are used to determine celestial coordinates and transform very large angles. This research paper will help students in their study of these disciplines. Particular attention is paid to the close connection between mathematics and astronomy and physics.
