Punarnava herb is most commonly used in treatment of renal problems and urinary tract infections. Punarnava Himalaya Herb is used to treatment of jaundice, general fever and obesity. It is also used as anti-inflammatory and diuretic agent, although punarnava consists of various chemical constituents and various herbal marketed formulations for punarnava roots are available, due to over exploitation in the market, uses of adultarants, herbal marketed products must be standardized. A simple, fast and precise high performance Thinlayer chromatographic method has been developed for the determination of Punarnavine in punarnava roots.
