With the increase in life expectancy, the health and quality of life of the elderly population become crucial issues, among which falls present a significant problem. Among the various therapeutic and preventive approaches, kinesiotherapy, which involves the use of targeted therapeutic movements and exercises, has been widely adopted as a promising strategy to reduce the risk of falls in the elderly. Therefore, this work conducted a literature review on the benefits of kinesiotherapy in preventing falls in the elderly. Articles were searched in the SciELO, Google Scholar, and PUBMED databases, published between 2014 and 2024, in Portuguese and English. After an initial screening of titles and abstracts, relevant articles were selected and analyzed. The data from the selected articles were synthesized into a table and critically analyzed, highlighting the main conclusions. Sixteen studies were analyzed, and after reading, a total of ten articles were included in the discussion of this work. The reviewed studies demonstrated a consensus on the positive effects of kinesiotherapy in maintaining functional autonomy, relieving pain, increasing mobility, and improving the quality of life of the elderly.
