We emphasize that the theoretical and methodological foundations of state management of economic and demographic processes are crucial for ensuring the sustainable development of society. This approach integrates concepts from economics, demography, and management to study and regulate the dynamics of populations, labor resources, social structures, and economic systems. Key aspects include analyzing demographic data, forecasting trends, and developing strategies for managing resources and social programs. In modern conditions of globalization and demographic changes, these fundamentals become especially relevant, requiring a systematic and integrated approach to managing economic and demographic processes. This article analyzes the demographic situation in one of the constituent entities of Russia - the Kursk region. Gaps in regional economic and demographic policy are identified and solutions of a scientific and practical nature are proposed.
