Artificial intelligence: advantages for society and social policy

The article discusses various aspects of the application of artificial intelligence (AI) in various fields of public administration, spheres of society and the benefits that are possible for social policy. Artificial intelligence technologies are used in various areas of people’s lives. One of the promising areas of AI application is the field of public administration. Public authorities are implementing communication and information technologies to create new intelligent systems and develop new risk prevention strategies in public administration. AI technologies can be used in a wide variety of areas of public administration — in the provision of public services, in the field of security, in public transport, in healthcare and surgery, in the work of the migration service, law enforcement agencies, the Ministry of Emergency Situations, personnel personnel and many other areas. The use of AI technologies in public administration can not only increase the speed, efficiency and quality of public service provision, but also reduce their cost by automating processes and reducing a number of costs. In December 2019, President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin signed a Decree on the Strategy for the Development of Artificial Intelligence in the Russian Federation. This article presents the directions of the development of artificial intelligence in the Russian Federation, the forecast of trends and transformations of spheres of public life due to the use of artificial intelligence.
