Study is carried out to investigate the improvements in the properties of expansive soil by using Waste Paper Sludge ash as a stabilizing agent in varying percentages. The aim of this study is to modify the expansive soil using waste paper sludge into a stabilized soil to make it an asset for construction of various structures. Soil sample was supplemented with different percentage of waste paper sludge ash i.e. at 2%, 5%, 7%, 10%, 15% and 20% by weight and various laboratory tests were conducted to investigate the modified properties of the soil. Tests such as plastic limit, liquid limit, shrinkage limit, standard proctor compaction, unconfined compressive strength test and California bearing ratio test (soaked and unsoaked condition) were conducted on the modified soil sample i.e. expansive soil mixed with Waste Paper Sludge at different proportions.
