Li/CFx batteries play a crucial role in cutting-edge fields such as military and medical applications. However, they still need further research to enhance their low discharge voltage with improved discharge capacity. In this work, ZnNi/CNT composites were used as catalysts to promote performance of Li/CFx batteries. Results show that these composites could enhance the battery to exhibit high specific capacity with improved voltage platform. Further analysis finds that a higher ion diffusion coefficient at 0.1 C discharge was maintained with lower charge transfer impedance. Ex-situ test results further reveal the ZnNi/CNT could lead to the formation of smaller LiF structure after discharge process, which is crucial for promoting the electrochemical process of Li/CFx battery. This work could provide an important reference for the design of primary battery electrode structure.
