Methods: A cross-sectional study with all cases of cessation of fetal progression in the first trimester of pregnancy diagnosed and treated at the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology - Hue University of Medicine and Pharmacy Hospital from May 2023 to November 2023. Results: Through a study of 121 cases of stillbirth in the first trimester of pregnancy, 10 cases of spontaneous abortion were recorded after admission to the hospital (8.3%). The success rate with medical abortion is 97.3%, of which the complete miscarriage rate is 92.8%. There were 8 cases of intervention treatment (suction curettage or vacuum aspiration) (6.6%), the success rate was 100%. Most medical treatments are successful after 1 course, the average number of doses of misoprostol for abortion is 2.1 ± 1.1 doses with an average total dose of 1250.0 ± 667.0 µg. The average time to expulsion is 16.5 ± 14.1 hours. A history of preterm birth increased the rate of incomplete miscarriage by 16.5 times (16.5; 95%CI: 2.1 - 128.1). Conclusion: Medical treatment of stillbir th in the first trimester of pregnancy has high success rate with a short treatment course and duration.
