Background: In this study we aimed to examine the association between Elevated Gamma Glutamyl Transpeptidase [GGT] levels and Cerebrovascular stroke. This study was conducted at ESIC Medical College, Sanathnagar, Hyderabad fr Materials and Methods: om December 2023- May 2024. The study population included 50 patients admitted in our Hospital with stroke history of 24-72 hrs. The clinical and Result: laboratory prole of 50 patients were evaluated. GGT is more strongly associated with ischemic stroke patients with a (P value: 0.0418 - Signicant). Risk factor of Hypertension in stroke showed signicantly elevated GGT levels. Elevate Conclusion: d Serum GGT levels is an independent risk factor for stroke, even in the presence of other risk factors such as Diabetes, HTN, Dyslipidemia, and Age. It is a Novel Biomarker for predicting Stroke.
