The Infrared (IR) signature of an aircraft's exhaust plume is closely related to nozzle characteristics within its propulsion system. Therefore, an IR signature characteristics study based on various nozzle designs is essential for future development of domestic stealth technology. In this study, both the circular nozzle and the 2D nozzle's exhaust plumes were modeled by using the commercial program STAR-CCM+. Subsequently, the IR signature of each nozzle under various conditions was numerically analyzed based on the narrow band model of radiative heat transfer.
