This study is the result of an experimental analysis of the spray characteristics between mixed biofuel and Jet A-1 fuel researched and developed in Korea. Mixed biofuel is an alternative fuel candidate developed through the HEFA process led by the Agency for Defense Development. Pure biofuel has no aromatic component, almost no olefin component, and mostly comprises paraffin components. In this study, to examine whether the developed fuel can be used as a drop-in fuel, a spray test was conducted to investigate how the changed fuel component affects the atomization characteristics of the fuel by mixing it with the existing Jet A-1 fuel in a volume ratio of 50% in accordance with the ASTM D7566 standard. In particular, a spray test was carried out under low-temperature fuel conditions to examine the spray characteristics of the aircraft gas turbine engine under cold start conditions.
