The submerged inlet has advantages such as drag and weight reduction of the aircraft and low observability due to low RCS (Radar Cross Section), but due to the characteristic of the curved shape design, it suffers from the disadvantage of large total pressure loss due to increased non-uniformity of flow due to flow separation and distortion of incoming flow toward inlet. Therefore, it is necessary to observe the flow characteristics according to various combinations of design variables and explore the inlet shape that maximizes performance, considering the correlation and mutual influence between variables. In this study, an inlet design method was proposed to maximize the performance of the submerged inlet according to various combinations of design variables in the transonic flow of Mach 0.8.
